Hosted a family that fled from Afghanistan in 2021 for four months
– I was involved in teaching the 15 month old, 4 year old, and 8 year old basic English –
– Sharing American culture like Halloween
Involved in setting up and participating in Helping Other People Eat (HOPE) in 2021 and 2022
– Sorting and handing out clothing and toys
– Serving a Christmas meal
– Communicating with Spanish-only speakers
Helped preserve and clean community parks in 2019 and 2021
Set up a garden at a Women’s Safe Center/Mental Health Hospital in 2022
Completed 12 hours of community service building a playground for underprivileged kids in Colombia in 2023
This summer and into my junior year, I will be volunteering at Maxfund (a no-kill animal shelter)
